About Me and Little Dumplings Childminding
Hello, I'm Jess, thank you for visiting my website and here is my business page.
I started Little Dumplings Childminding in September 2017 when I decided to have a change in my career. For the last 5 years I was a personal nanny for a few different families which I thoroughly enjoyed so I took the love I had of nannying and decided it was time to start my own business. The move felt right at the time as I reached a stage in my career where I thought that my experience and know how was best put to use running my own childminding business,
I knew this would both benefit me and the children I was to look after. I have worked in many different roles within the industry including at a private day nursery, here I developed my skills in working alongside parents and ensuring that we all understand each child's best interests. I learnt that many parents have different techniques and have picked up many different ways with dealing with children's behaviours whether it was good or bad.
Whilst working in the nursery I worked myself up to team leader where I learnt leadership, organisation and patience skills. I specialised in the baby room and helped parents get their babies into a routine whilst hitting milestones enabling them to blossom. When the time came to leave the nursery, I decided to go into nannying, I gained experience at the beginning by only taking short term work, I gained skills working with 5-month-old twins, working with children at secondary school and working alongside different cultures and ethnicities.
My long-term family had a new born and I helped assist the mother in the early stages. This is where I found the courage to start my own business, I feel I learnt and gained the experience needed to create my own setting. Which is the best thing I ever did.
I feel I'm unique from the rest as I play the role of the stand in mother, I love and nurture the children as if they were my own. I'm aware that every child is different and they all have different needs and require different care. I befriend the parents and we become a team and we work together to gain the best development for their child.
I'm often told I'm confident and bubbly. The children always tell me how much fun I am and how they love their "Jess" days the most.
I have great patience, I'm approachable and loyal. At Little Dumplings Childminding we enjoy many activities and have a good balance of indoor play with their own access to the play room and free flow into the garden. We also get out to the park every day sometimes twice a day, I take the smaller children to play groups and in the school holidays we venture out to the beach, castles, zoo etc... the children are constantly stimulated. We always have a good time at Little Dumplings Childminding.

Early Years Foundation Stage(EYFS)
What is the EYFS?
For those of you that do not know, the EYFS is a standard set that all early year's providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children’s ‘school readiness’ and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.
Children develop quickly in the early years and a child’s experiences between birth and the age of five have a major impact on their future life chances. A childhood needs to be safe, secure and happy. Good parenting and high-quality early learning together provide the foundation children need to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up. Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. Here at Little Dumplings Childminding we are advocates of the EYFS and we will ensure the best care and development for your child.

EYFS Framework PDFHelp with Childcare Costs
You do not necessarily have to pay all your childcare costs. The Government will help you with your costs.
I offer childcare funding for ages 2-4 which offered 15-30 hours.
I have managed to help lots of my parents cut their childcare costs, I still get my wage and the children still get the best childcare available for a lower cost thanks to the government. It truly is a fantastic scheme.
